My current footprint
A little about my background...
Hometown: Westbrook, Maine
Current City: Madison, Wisconsin
Current Position: Teaching Learning Specialist, Blackhawk Technical College
About me:
My background is rather eclectic. First and foremost I am a lifelong learner. It took me a while to get a formal college education. At the age of 37 I started in earnest and the
following is what I have attained - so far! I have a B.A. in Linguistics with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language from UW-Madison; an A.S. in Computer Technology from
Southern Maine Community College; my Master’s degree is in Education - Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Experiential Education from Ferris State University and I also have my
Wisconsin Teaching Certification from Cardinal Stritch University (grades 1-8 certification).
I have facilitated classes ranging from informal E.S.L. to college level computer applications - from wildlife conservation to backpacking for middle aged women. I bring strong and varied
teaching experiences to my position as well as a technology background conducive to instructional development. I use a constructivist teaching approach and have a calm yet enthusiastic demeanor.
Hobbies:
Upon reflection, I don't feel like I've taken much time lately for hobbies, for which I assume full responsibility. However, I enjoy camping, crafts including sewing, crocheting, knitting; music including my self-taught levels on cello, harp and piano; and I greatly enjoy time with family and friends.
